Relax in the freedom of a guesthouse where you do not have the sense of intrusion into someone's home.
Au Pear is an old Cape cottage with four luxury suites surrounding a courtyard with Catawba and Hanepoot grape vines. Completely renovated while retaining much of its period charm, this darling boutique guest house is tucked up a side road in the heart of leafy Newlands and within walking distance of the University of Cape Town, Newlands Forest, Newlands rugby and cricket grounds, local pubs, restaurants and coffee shops. Only 15 minutes to the City Centre or Cape Town international airport and 20 minutes to the beach.
Guests are encouraged to use the kitchen and dining facilities to make meals and entertain friends both inside and out. Other facilities include a barbeque, a laundry, some off street parking with electronic access and perimeter security fencing. Flat screen satillite television plus good free internet throughout the house.
Our boutique guest house is ideal for both individual leisure and business stays as well as private groups such as small weddings and other celebrations and large families wanting to stay together.
Dim the lights, sink between the 600 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets with soft down duvets and Happy Hugger bed warmers and feel luxuriated with Charlotte Rhys body products, fluffy gowns and slippers. All rooms have king size extra length beds and lead out to either the verandah or patio and all have both bath and showers as well as hair dryers, luggage racks, bar fridges, tea and coffee making facilities and electronic laptop safes.
Au Pear is child and pet friendly. Camp cot available at no extra charge. We are also wheelchair friendly in that we have access with a few tiny steps, ramps and open showers.
You are welcome to pick fruit when in season - pears (of course), plums, avocados and grapes.
